Fundamental to emissions trading is the quantification of emission reductions or removals from an offset project. The Approved Alberta Protocols section is devoted entirely to offset quantification protocols for eligible project-types. There is a list of draft and approved protocols, as well as information to develop a new protocol.

The Alberta Emissions Offset Registry is the public platform for registration of all Alberta-based compliance offsets. The registry will help market participants and the general public view Alberta-based offset projects as posted.
