Regulatory Framework for Air Emissions

The framework outlines targets for regulated sectors as well as compliance options (Internal Reductions, Technology Fund, Emissions Trading and Credit for Early Action). Since the Frameworks’ release, the Government has been conducting consultations with provinces and territories, industrial sectors and other stakeholders across Canada to discuss elements of the plan to ensure real environmental benefits can be workably achieved. It is anticipated that a formal plan will be released this fall.
